How about easing the laws on institutionalizing those with violent tendencies? Or does that violate their precious civil rights? You cant have it both ways. Lock them up or have them roaming the streets putting others in danger.

So I read this story and at no point does it mention what Obama's immigration policy is?? He is a genius politician. Even the press is to afraid to ask him.

probsolver - There are not votes to be had in addressing the problem. Obama and Democrats aren't interested in anything that doesn't involve giving away free stuff in return for votes.

Noting that President Ronald Reagan pushed through more tax cuts and that President Bill Clinton helped transform budget deficits into budget surpluses. - Did Obama aide note that Obama will do none of that? He will legalize millions of illegals to win votes and will ignore unemployment. Lets then extend benefits to these millions of people as well. Problem solved. So simple.

By immigration overhaul, do you mean team Obama has ILLEGAL immigrants pay a fee to remain in our country ILLEGALLY? That's their plan, and that doesn't sound like an overhaul.

So when the Federal Government performs a background check on fradulently documented immigrants will they check for tax evasion, identity fraud or working in the country illegally and if they do which identity will they run a background check on?

We already have gun laws that don't work. Look at the article in this paper about the man in Delano that killed is mother. He is out of prison and purchased firearms because the State didn't put him into the system. The background checks wont work if the government doesn't do its job. We all know how efficient the government is.

"White House senior adviser David Plouffe listed gun legislation and immigration reform as two top domestic priorities as President Barack Obama readies for a second term."

Most would have expected the economy to the top priority. Go figure.
