After waiting through a lockout, the Wild and its heralded newcomers lagged one period longer before rolling to victory.

Mister Know it all went to this contest tonight, I think the Diet coke was purchased with the idea in mind that the season was going to begin in September, the worst Diet coke I ever tasted, went to two different concession stands, I wanted to complain but who would I complain to reckon ? .... Grandlund did a good job with the face offs at center and he scored on a lucky tip in that likely won't happen to any one again, somehow that made him the second star of the game, I think that is Minnesota Nice at work........ The first line was great on the power play, was that surprising to anyone, Heatley the all star can score goals, but I would not be surprised if he did have another two goal game the whole year, the problem is that line had just a few good looking moments 5 on 5, I see no glaring reason why Parise should be on that line when he could be providing another line some serious point production, put Bouchard back with Koivou like Russo said in the pre-game, makes sense. The only reason is because of a couple fragile egos wanting to be on what we label 1st line maybe...... In the pre- game warm up, Konepka and Mcleod talked PLUS Kassian who did not play talked with Bordaleau who did play, I have never seen that done before in a peaceful manner. Konepka/Mcleod carried out there conversation with a fight right away. Stupid fight, would rather see Konepka speak with Downie who gave Spurgeon a head shot........Nordy was annoying, he is out in the crowd beating some drum, much rather hear the artificial noise then that THING ! Mark my words, someone will push him down the stairs especially at one these late night games.......

Great start to what could be the best pro hockey season in state history. Still a lot of room for improvement, but this is a fun team. Go Wild!!!

mkia, soda syrup, whether it contains real sugar, or the artificial sweetners, would have to sit a long time to have a negative effect on the taste or flavor profile. Perhaps the syrup/water/carbonation lines needed to be blown out, or cleaned, but otherwise, the product doesn't get mixed until it gets drawn from the dispensing equipment thereby minimizing opportunities for the product to go flat. You may still have a bad taste in your mouth from the DR and JL days??

Great start to a potentially Stanley Cup year but hopefully it stays winning and not fold halfway through the season like last year. This group seems very determined to play well together, nice to see they didn't get down on themselves when they were behind. Go Wild!

I was surprised PMB didn't go for a Spinarama on his breakaway on Varlamov, he never would have seen it coming.

The whole fighting thing is so stupid, especially in the first moments of the first game of the new season. No wonder the sport can't get a major TV contract - just when a hockey game breaks out they decide to muck it up.
