Great game. ND got the bounces early and UM got em late. ND played a lot better than Fri. 10 game unbeaten streak is impressive.

Much better game by the Sue tonight. Glad to see they brought their "A" game for the final regular season WCHA game between these two great teams. Hopefully these two teams will face off in the championship of the WCHA playoffs this year at the X. I can't believe these two teams won't be playing each other at least one weekend each year going forward. The TV $, Restaurant $, Hotel $, etc. it brings to the host town has got to be big. Just doesn't make $cents.

It's gotta feel like a loss for the former Sioux... Especially after the two hit posts in OT. Great game.

ND had the jump on the Gophers most of the evening. Had the Gophs earlier shown the intensity they found in the last 8 minutes of the game, they might have won by two. Too bad this rivalry is now assigned to some people's memories. If there is blame to be assigned it goes to ND's foot-dragging and vacillation in dealing with the mascot thing.

Kleinharrie, oh please. Look no further than UMN's athletic dept and Lucia for dumping this rivalry.

thought the gophers were outplaying the sue again until rau was hit with a 4 minute major, everything changed after that. it was pretty sweet to see the gophers steal a point on a night they made several sifnificant mistakes.

The rivalry will be missed but I don't think the foot dragging had anything to do with it. The NCAA different rules for different schools approach made it easy for them to ignore the larger schools, like Florida State, coercion of that tribe. UND knows, like most everyone else, the NCAA has no credibility but unlike most schools they stood up.

sfod93, I believe that statement is incorrect. All Big Ten teams have a signed obligation with the league to move to a "Big Ten Conference", when enough teams are in the sport to qualify as a league...Minnesota had no choice but to move. As far as having the Sue every other year, that is to make sure the Gophs play every Minnesota team every year. It is what it is in big time collegiate athletics...accept and move on. One thing it will do is REALLY make any postseason matchup between the Gophs and the Sue like a national championship game.

The goofers didn't impress me at all.

As a UND fan, its hard to admit but its one of the few times that UND has was so outmatched by the U of M. Don't get me wrong, UND played its hearts tonight. But the skill difference is very much in the Gophers favor. Perhaps most sadly, the rivalry is ending. I really think the Gophers need to find room for their biggest rival.
