Oh, let's see...in the last two days Obama's minions have declared allergies a disability, making restaurants and school cafeterias responsible for a tiny minorities personal health issue. HIS EPA is going to require Taconite mines to reduce the output of "haze" causing particles because SOMETIMES there is haze in the BWCA, which the campers want to go away. These brand new regulations will cost tens of millions of dollars . I work in one of those mines. Currently 2 of the 5 mines on the iron range have laid off miners or will be over the next few months. One mine in Michigan just shut down. Forest fires also produced haze. Approximately 40% of the haze comes from the U.S. This assinine administration doesn't care if a 3.2 billion dollar a year industry shuts down as long as campers have a better view! Ore can be mined in many other countries with little or no regulation. Keep voting for the progressives people, we can all be on the dole- supported by the 1%!
If the Florida man mentioned here is concerned about lack of stability, then perhaps he should put pressure on the Republicans in Congress. They are the ones pushing for steep cuts to Medicare and Social Security -- something that will make retirement very uncertain for most members of the middle class. I'm not saying Obama is perfect, but it is lame to blame the President for uncertainty when it is the conservatives who have gone off of the rails into extremism. They're now so blinkered by ideology that they think moderate health care reforms (far below the services provided by most advanced countries) is somehow communism, and modest attempts to regulate access to powerful guns is somehow a step toward dictatorship. If we really want political stability, then moderate Republicans need to come back from the brink of extinction and bring their party back to sanity. Until that day, Congress will be a madhouse, no matter what the President does.
I have to say that we're witnessing a new & much bolder Obama since the election! I welcome his no-nonsense, don't
even try to mess with me attitude. He's amazing really: first national health care bill; got bin Laden; saved the
auto industry; averted a major depression; struck down DADT; came out in support of gay marriage; and now this,
the first concerted and comprehensive effort in history to combat gun violence. He's simply remarkable and will,
I'm quite certain, go down as the one of the most transformational and finest presidents in our history.
