Overcharging of batteries likely culprit in Boeing 787 incidents, experts say

First off, I'm a Boeing fan. But - I think using these batteries to save a bit of weight compared to the risk of these batteries was and still is, a bad choice. All Boeing would have had to do was ask the electric radio control hobby people about these batteries, heck, we've been burning down homes, garages, cars, model planes and workshops for many years with these batteries. They are not to be taken as normal batteries and require many safeguards to even attempt safe operation. In a situation like the Boeing 787, nothing should be left to chance and these batteries are a BAD CHANCE.
