why should she apologize for the invitation? The lady invited herself and she was caught off gaurd be honest. Im sorry but you caught me off gaurd and on the spot.

Your answer to the person who was involved in some sexual touching as a young person with another young person seems a bit off. Young people do explore their sexuality at times with other young people so it is not so clear that this was not the case. If the situation really did involve abuse, there may still be no need to discuss it with someone else. 50 years ago is a long, long time ago and any injury done may already be healed. Why stir up unpleasant memories when there is life left to enjoy. Not everyone wants to hash and rehash unfortunate events from the past nor should they be encouraged to do so. At some point, it is healthy to just 'let go'.

mnmaggiemn: Because she doesn't want to hurt the woman's feelings. Nor does she want to embarrass or humiliate her. Sometimes the graceful thing to do is to fall on your sword a little bit and not create hard feelings or start arguments with people when you don't have to.
