TSA= Bad joke on US.
Your tax dollars at work! What a great experiment this was. And at what cost?
Privatise the TSA, and watch things get a lot better.
The real reason is the damage caused to the eyes and brains of the scanner operators after I walked through....the horror, the horror...
The line for pat downs, gropes, and fuzzy feel goods forms to the right.
Now what is the person in the back room going to do?
So they were in all this time, at great expense to tax payers, all these concerns were presented at the time, they were still given the go to use them, before there was a fix and now they are being removed, but not until JUNE, and they know they have this flaw. Why aren't they removed right now? Bring in explosive sniffing dogs. They are cheaper and more effective. Briing our national guard home and put them at the airport like they were right after 911. That would make us safer than anything else they have implemented to make travel a pain in the butt.
The other thing, besides the privacy issue is the x-ray itself. There is no "safe dosage" known at this time. Considering x-rays you have for dental work, any broken bones, CTs, etc...you don't need the extra that doesn't do anything anyway.
I have repeatedly gone through these with a tight pair of jeans on and have gotten frisked anyway.
What's the bill?
The Headline Should Read: TSA is ditching $42,000,000 of X-ray body scanners after less than 3 years.
