Twins catcher Joe Mauer and relief pitcher Glen Perkins have been named to the United States roster for the World Baseball Classic in March.

That's the best they could get to agree to play for the USA? Seems they could have come up with better...... Or maybe people aren't interested in WBC?

Now different cultures will be able to see Mauer hit three hoppers to 2nd base. I'll bet he gets hurt in the third.

Not trying to be negative, but the WBC does absolutely nothing for me. And I don't think I'm alone in that sentiment.

People from other countries actually have "pride" in their country, so it means something to them. The nay-sayers apparently share the same views as most American baseball players, since most don't want to play in the WBC either. USA ... it's all about me, baby!
