Mahtomedi High ends police protection

Budget cuts make it the only secondary school in the county that doesn't contract for a full-time deputy. That concerns the sheriff.

"The Mahtomedi deputy, Hutton said, helped prevent crime in the city because she could relay information gathered in the school to officers on the street about fights and other trouble about to occur." So the Sheriffs department was using the school resource office for "intel" to help reduce crime throughout the city. It sounds like the sheriffs department, or the city should pay for this deputy, not the school district.

Wait, you mean to tell me there have been ARMED police officers with GUNS in our schools since the 70's?? GASP! So the fearful and hate-riddled reactions to the NRA's proposal of adding more trained and armed police officers was purely a response to the financial and/or fiscal ordeal of paying for it then, right? Nothing beats the media continuing to rile people up over absolutely nothing we haven't already been doing for decades...This country has turned into a joke.
