"The organization says the products are safe and that many contain the same amount of caffeine as coffeehouse coffee.".......Yeah, except coffee has two ingredients - coffee. And water. Most energy drinks have a chemical ingredient list as long as my shoe and is probably potent enough to embalm a whale. Every time I see that stuff on the shelves in convenience stores, it makes me sick to my stomach.

Every time I see someone with these chemically enhanced caffeine bombs, I think stupid as is stupid does.

This article seems like its just trying to scare people. I understand this stuff may cause issues for certain people (especially when mixed with alcohol) but I can't imagine it's that much worse than say Mountain Dew. At least it has some vitamins?

The American Beverage Association's released demurral sounds eerily like those released decades ago by the tobacco industry.

the federal report only counts patients in the ER who consumed energy drinks, and doesn't prove that energy drinks caused all of their symptoms, especially given the number of patients who took other substances - - - once again the whole issue is more complex than a single sound bite.

Everything is bad for you if you ingest enough of it. What in the h**l are people in their 20's needing energy drinks for anyway? At that age, they should be able to go round the clock without slowing down, hit the rack for a couple hours, shower and head off to work running on little more than mountain dew and mini-donuts...

ever wondered what was in the safe stuff? like hot dogs, sausages, frozen pizza ? Drink a soda pop. Buy a breakfast sandwich. Have a candy bar. Where does the water comre from that is used to clean your produce from Chile or Mexico? Point is, you can pick your target. If you do not spend the effort to know the contents you may need to take the time to read your insurance contracts. You cannot expect a business to care for your needs.

It is interesting that although associate teens often are pictured as the main group hospitalized from energy drink consumption, adults are actually the most affected! Adults should set an example for drinking healthier functional drink alternatives like Solixir, Honest Tea, or FRS. Instead of combining copious amounts of sugar and caffeine to make blood sugar, serotonin, and heart rates sky rocket, Solixir is 100% all natural and doesn’t rely solely on caffeine for stimulation. Solixir uses botanicals like Yerba Maté, Ginseng and Angelica Root to also target brain stimulation and better blood flow for a gentle and healthy lift.
