The difficulty with this is there are too many different bureaus int eh government anyway. Why not exercise some good stewardship and combine like minded groups and reduce duplicate efforts and spending?

A prime example of government waste. There's little left of BATFE but a history of questionable operational tactics, a tainted reputation, and a mission which duplicates that of other federal bureaus. They should have been disbanded long ago and their expertise absorbed into the FBI.
