We do keep AR-15's out of the class rooms. It's called a gun free zone. If that isn't working that isn't the gun's fault.

I don't recall anything in the constitution that talks about taxpayers having to pay the salaries of local Sherrifs either.

So let me see if I get this right, the president recently stated that he wasn't going to go after recreational users of marijuana in Washington and Colorado now that they've legalized it, but a sheriff stating he won't enforce a law he considers to be unconstitutional is ridiculous? As mz Peterson would say, kettle, meet pot.

Joan Peterson's comment at the end of the article is right on.If the mentally ill actually could not get guns, there would be no AR15's in classrooms.

Here come the thumbs downs/but i don't care....Fear fear fear. What a dumb country we live in. Panic ensues at the slightest notion. What a disbelieving fearful and stupid people we've become. The gun answers it all for these people. It's the end all.

Why is my blast not up? Okay I'll repeat it. Watch all the thumbs downs. I don't care. Fear fear and more fear. We have become a country of dumb paranoids who believe the gun answers all the questions and provide safety and peace. Well, good luck with that.

People with gun permits are kidding themselves. This is not Hollywood, bad guys do not give speeches; they just kill. By the time you realize what is going on it is either over or you are dead. The last thing society needs is more people bringing their guns to town.

As with all liberal foolishness, the law of 'unintended consequences' applies: Obama and his fellow gun-grabbers are succeeding in selling more guns and getting more lawful citizens licensed to carry than at any other time in history. Of course, this is the exact OPPOSITE of what Obama wants. Just more proof of the idiocy of trying to ban guns and limit magazine sizes etc. Columbine happened in the middle of the last 'assault weapons ban', and Sandy Hook happened in Conn., which ALREADY has an 'assault weapons ban', and some of the stictest gun laws in the country. But facts and logic don't matter to the kool-aid drinking gun haters. They simply want to do more of the same policies that were already tried and were failures. Guess they can't learn from history, so they foolishly try to repeat it.

Instead of keeping the A-15s away from everybody to keep the weapons away from the mentally ill, how about keeping the mentally ill away from everybody while allowing the rest of the population their 2nd amendment rights? In the case of the Webster NY shooting, why was a convicted sociopathic murderer allowed to leave prison and live with no supervision?
