In this golden era of quarterbacks, teams without a standout are doing everything possible to find one. Even Kaepernicking.

It wasn't that much of a risk for a team with questions at quarterback to draft Joe Webb in the 6th round in 2010. It will be however a risk to compete with other teams willing to take a risk and spend a lot of money on Webb when he becomes a free agent because he has physical skills that are probably every bit as good as Kaepernick's. Teams are going to be willing to bid on Webb's services. When are the Viking's and Webb going to figure something out? Is Webb showing progress at the quarterback position for the Vikings? Webb was thrown to the wolves in the playoffs. Putting young Webb with his lack of playing experience into a playoff game with the Packers was the fault of the coaching staff because they did so little (one weeks preparation with the first team when they knew of the severity of Ponder's injury) to prepare Webb. A team is going to have to get Webb out on the field to know what he can do just like Harbaurgh did with Kaepernick. Ponder is looking like a roll-out type of quarterback that will continue to make progress. Ponder looks similar to Russell Wilson. Webb is our Kaepernick. If we're looking for potential at quarterback there are no quarterbacks in free agency that have Webb's potential. There will be some in the draft that have his potential but the Vikings are not going to draft a quarterback high (if at all) this year. Webb should be front and center the big decision that the Vikings make at the quarterback position this off-season. This Vikings organization needs to answer the question: Are there future plans for Webb at quarterback or not? If not and another team makes a Kaepernick out of Webb then both our offensive coordinator and quarterback coach need to be shown the door with the words: You're fired.

Why shouldn't Frazier take a cue from Harbaugh and parlay Ponder's so-so year into a trade? Ponder's value is probably as high as it ever will be, perhaps we could get an extra pick or two for next year's draft.

No reason "not" to draft another QB this year in later rounds. How do you think we got into this mess called Ponderosa in the first place? We walked into the 2011 Draft, with only 12th overall pick and zero QB's on the roster! You simply don't do that. Favre(retired),Ramsey(let go), Webb(listed as a WR). My point is, the Vikings were late to the party, then messed up the pick taking Ponder over Kapernick and Dalton. Draft QB's BEFORE your back is up against the wall!! Draft them, before you need them.

How can you say Webb has physical skills that are every bit as good as Kaepernicks? Have you seen Webb throw the ball? He has no accuracy at all. Kaepernick hits the receiver in stride with some zip on the ball. Webb has no accuracy whatsoever. Why do you think the Vikings did not play him all year?

If you still need more time to make a decision on Ponder you just don't know football. The bottom line is he does not have the physical tools to be a better than average QB in the NFL. Keep in mind AVERAGE doesn't do it anymore. The NFL started evolving into a pass happy league at least eight years ago and if you don't have a legit #1 QB you are screwed. Today the Vikes have no QB and only one star WR (Harvin). The Vikes were left standing at the station and the train is long gone. Blame it on the owner and GM. These guys don't have the moxie to develop a championship team. Bottom line...the Vikes will be nothing but mediocre at best. They will be lucky to finish 8-8 in 2013. NO PLAYOFFS FOR YOU!
