I know one thing, it would sure make Sid a happy guy, seeing one of his CPF's come back to the Midwest. Sid will undoubtedly tell us how he mentored him and is responsible for his success.

I think Bevell would be a MUCH better fit in Chicago. ;)

As a Minnesotan living in Montreal I rejoiced when he was hired for the Allouettes. As a Viking fan I hate his hiring as the Bears new coach. The division just got even tougher.

Trestman will be a solid NFL coach, good for the Bears if they sign him, bad for the Vikings.

Why is Souhan writing about the Bears? The Bears who cares. I thought I was reading the Strib and not the chicago tribune.

You have to have played the position to see it through the eyes of a QB. He didn't make it at the U and he wasn't the starting QB at Moorhead. So just because he was on the team doesn't make him a super candidate or a great QB coach. So how did he get all these opportunities? Charlie Weis never player at ND and look how he turned out. I guess it goes to show you if you have the players then it doesn't matter who the coach is. At least that's what Bud Grant thinks. Go figure.

I seem to recall he sucked when he was with the Vikings. The Bears have never been an offensive team so this change in identity ought to really screw them up.
