Minneapolis-St. Paul does not need another box store to sell things we do not need.

Good for us on the east side of town. I try to buy from Gander Mountain seeing it's a local company but buy a fair share of clothing from Cabelas. They do a good job of carrying big and tall men's outdoor clothing where Gander does not. They also do a good job of keeping their shelves stocked with ammunition and not gouging too much on the price. They still had plenty of 9MM for $14 a box. Yes, that's a little spendy seeing it was Czech and Brazilian made, but still keeping in well stocked and still affordable is a good thing.

To all the anti-gun zealots - get over it. Cabelas is a GREAT addition to any community. What the anti-gun, anti-constitution zealots never recognize is that criminals aren't interested in going to a store and making a legal firearms purchase. Why? Because of background checks and because firearms purchases there can be traced. It would be stunning to find 1 anti-gun zealot who had any knowledge of firearms and the current laws.

It's interesting the store is half the size of the Rogers store. Cabela's has been known to get huge tax incentives from communities when Cabela's offers to build their massive stores. Cabela's touts the number of shoppers that will come to their town with a Cabela's there. People already go to Woodbury to shop. Cabela's likely isn't drawing any more shoppers to the area. Wonder if Woodbury isn't offering tax breaks so Cabela's is only building a half-store?

Went in the Owatonna store yesterday, first time in many years. Very few shoppers. Couldn't help but think the stores are nothing but a showroom for their Internet business. 80 percent of their business, including mine, must be online. Nice to have a return outlet close by. I find better values at Bass Pro Shops, but, hey, if Cabela's wants to be next door, God bless America, and, Cabela's!
