Wow! As the father of two girls who I would give up my life for to save them from ever being hurt, it's hard to imagine what this lady went through as a child. The real heroes in this story are the foster parents, the judge and particularly the tough girl (now woman) who refused to let this stop her from having a successful life. Good luck to her!

The parents deserve so much credit, as does this woman. She could retreat in life and allow her experience to consume her, but she's a true survivor. For those who believe they're a victim because they live in poverty, etc., I encourage you to find a way to purchase her book. What she has to say carries far more weight with me than what any professional can write.
