I think this says it all. Frankly, it is mostly bad luck. Every guy did worse than could have been reasonably expected. I'm not sure they would have been a great team with this staff performing at a reasonable level of success, but they would have stayed in the hunt for most of the past 2 years. Frankly, staying in the hunt is as much as the Twins fans should hope for year in, year out.

Please some knowledeable poster on here answer this question. How much more SMALL MARKET is the Twin Cities compared to Washington DC? Look what that franchise is doing....just paid 28 mil for 2 years for Soriano to close games for a loaded pitching staff. Remember how they "blew" that 6 run lead to Saint Louis in game 7? Well there you go. They went out and got a stopper. This is the mentality the Twins brass should have. But they don't get to this point. To get there, you have to pay for pitching and develop good young ball players. Draft well. But you still have to spend the money...don't think San Fran isn't/Cain and the Freak are getting paid well people. Yes it's still totally a low pay role but those pitchers are getting paid a lions' share. When is this management gonna see this?
