"but his options on the proposals opposed by the NRA are limited without Congress' cooperation" - It's not the NRA, but the constitution thus the american people who limit options aims at aggressive civil rights grabs. That is a positive american value. It would be nice to see him issue an executive order making agencies talk with each other better. It would be nice to see him work with congress the ensure 100% background checks for weapons purchases, public service requests, and voting eligibility. Will he lead in these areas? I guess we'll see. In some ways we already have and the future looks less hopeful, than in need of change.
So what executive orders from King Obama would be legal?
Yup just get that pen ready it's time for a executive order again.
The dictator/spender in charge has certainly been busy lately. Too bad. I'd rather he go on vacation as he likes to do so often.
"So what executive orders from King Obama would be legal?" - one requiring judicial branches to transmit non competence adjudication information to public safety agencies like the BATF. One requiring ICE to hold and deport all illegal aliens caught breaking our laws, seeking employment, lodging, banking services or public assistance. One mandating strict sentences for voting illegally or tampering with the electoral process. One requiring that those reported in the census for purposes of representation, demonstrate through citizenship verification that they actually qualify for representation. If Obama was a leader, he could actually do a lot in the way of leadership.
Things are getting pretty interesting in this country right now. We have a man that assumes imperial powers and American's will have to stand up and put a stop to it. I cannoto believe all the democrats in congress will go along withy this man's decrees. they have to recognize how dangerous this is to our Republic.
we have a country where a senate uses a filibuster to make sure the popular president, who is the first since Ike to get elected to 2 terms by over 51%, and his popular agenda can't get passed and a House that is so gerrymandered that even though being out voted by a 1.5 million more democrats votes still remains in the republicants hands.
He is much more than a man, he is a suit, a placeholder of a politiocommercial agenda which he asked to promote (rather than an individual asking to represent a people). The office requires a leader, it still does and I'll tell you this last election was more of a bidding war than the people being able to coalesce their political will around a representative leader. We are still waiting to see that. Maybe next election.
"even though being out voted by a 1.5 million more democrats votes" - The "Can't even buy political authority with an illigitmate census and allowing the country to be flooded with tens of millions of Illegal aliens, what is this country coming to?" School of Thought. Hmmm.
Barack Obama issued 146 executive orders between 2009 and 2013.
George W. Bush issued 291 executive orders between 2001 and 2009.
