The Gophers nearly beat Indiana after a brutal first half, and that confidence should help them vs. Michigan.

I agree the Gophs had a chance after a tremendous comeback in the second half, so lets make sure that doesn't happen against the Wolverines Thursday. Go Gophers!!!!

Too bad our man Rick didn't ask Bud for advice. Imagine if we had a QB like Wilson! Tubby, move on from this game...we don't want to hear you lamenting a tough loss the rest of the year like you have done previous years.

Is it me or do others feel that the Gophers are still an enigma, despite how well they've played? I believe the Gopher faithful, and the entire country, is on the verge of calling this one of the 5 best teams in the country but every accolade is prefaced by ..."Gophers have a change to legitimize their ranking". In my opinion, a win over Michigan would load up the bandwagon. It is a game that a top 5 team should win. At home, 4 days to prepare, healthy squad, etc. No excuses. Let's hope this is the season defining win this program really needs.

Someone ask Sid if the rumor about LF wanting out of Arizona is true. We might have a player with the initials PH that would make that trade look very attempting. I like PH, but I don't think he likes us. I really like LF and he might like to come 'home'.

The Gophers had a terrible first half. Tubby is partially to blame. He continues to pull the idiotic wholesale line changes. Four or Five cold guys in at once is never a good thing. So praise the team all you want, the coach is one of the main reasons for the loss.

If only we had all of the players mentioned. Someone tell Sid not to get Tubby and Jerry in trouble by saying, I know you can't comment on this, But the officials cost us the game or who are you recruiting from Alabama. One of these weeks one of the coaches might slip up and the NCAA will pour on the sanctions.

Gophers allowed 26 points in the paint in the first half. Smith has to stop being pig-headed and realize his own "ball-line defense" does not always get the job done. Smith has averaged an eigth place finish in the Big Ten during his first five seansons but the Gophers were successful when Iverson played in the Big Ten tournament and made the all tournament team and the Gophers nearly won the Big Ten tournament and the Gophers nearly won the NIT when Eliason played center. Smith needs to play Eliason and Mbakwe 20 minutes together on the floor to better defend the rim. Gophers have two line ups that would make sense; Eliason at center, Mbakwe and Rodney sharing the 4 spot, Andre at the point and Rodney, Austin and Coleman sharing the two wing spots and their present starting team of Mbakwe, Rodney, Coleman, Austin and Andre. No more five for five substitutions and the only subs being Welsh to rest Andre and Buggs (no more redshirt) at the 4 spot and Wally at the wing. You have to use your best players against serious competition if you want to be a 1,2 or 3 seed in the NCAA rather than a bubble team.

Here we go again with Tubby's "We gave a good effort" routine!! Tubby, you were hired to "WIN" games NOT to give a "Good Effort"!! Do you ever hear Coach K or Tom Izzo say: "Well we gave a good effort"? That is the difference between a consistent WINNING program and Tubby's program. The goals are much different! Tubby's players are playing for an "Atta Boy" from Tubby NOT for a WIN on the scoreboard!!

1. Gopher hoops, they played terrible and should have lost. Get ready for Michigan. 2. Baltimore - Good for Matt Birk to finally have success after bad yrs with Vikings. Nothing ever good should happen for Bryant McKinnie, he should lose and lost often. 3. WR's - Sidney Rice, dont care. Randy Moss- I don't get why they dont throw the ball to the guy more often. If he is taking plays off, he's still an idiot. 4. Pete Carroll & Bud Grant, Russell Wilson is not Fran Tarkington!

Tubby let the Indiana game get away by pulling all of his starters in the first half and the Hoosiers took off on their huge run that ultimately sunk the Gophers.
