The paternal grandparents absconded with their grandchild AFTER a judge ruled that the child be returned to his mother for a trial basis because she had gotten her stuff together. Sounds like kidnapping to me. Then, I hear that the "statute of limitations" has run out? Does kidnapping have a statute of limitations? This reeks of: if you can get away with it for long enough, it must be OK. Similar to a soccer mom who murdered someone decades ago (while a protester), became a successful fugitive, and did nothing else wrong in life so "no foul."

Shame on those Grandparents...they did not have the right to put the child's parents through such agony! They should have gone through the proper channels if they thought the child needed protection from the parents. A very long time for any parent to not know about their own child.

They committed a crime, period. This family never even had a chance to be a family because of these grandparents' selfishness. If they were so concerned then they could have supported their son and wife in being successful but one wonders if they were just too busy judging someone because of their supposed disability and punishing their son for being with someone who they did not like. Not only did they deprive their grandson's mother a relationship with her own child; they deprived their very own son of the same. It begs the question of what kind of parents they really were to their own children that they would be willing to hurt them so deeply.
