Tomorrow, on my lunch break, I think I'll go buy a sympathy card for Pete Carroll. Or, maybe not...

There were three unfortunate events that occurred in this game that caused Seattle to lose. Two of them were a result of human error and the other one was fate. First, before the first half was over, instead of regrouping after first or second down and spiking the ball and saving that last time out, the last time out was used. When the QB was sacked (he blew it when he did not throw the ball into the cheap seats to stop the clock) on third down, they had no way to stop the clock.... you ALWAYS save that last time out; they didn't. Second, when the other team only needs a field goal, has a better than average kicker, the conditions are good, and there are 30 seconds left in the game with two time outs for the offense. Why in the world would you play a Tampa 2 zone? How many times does a coach have to see this scenario and not recognize it? And finally, fate. If the Seattle ball carrier, who scored, and then fumbled the ball, had fumbled it first, initiating the Casper rule; the ball would have come back to the one yard line, no touchdown, but, the clock would have kept going. Instead, they scored, and the clock showed 31 seconds left. One more play, and if they score on that play (highly likely) the game is over and Seattle wins... or there are only a few seconds left on the clock for Atlanta. Carroll and the QB should both be ashamed of themselves for bad clock management. It cost them 3 points at the end of the first half, and eventually, the game.

Two comments on professional football; championship games should NEVER be played in dome stadiums, and most important soccer style kicking s/b banned this is football NOT soccer. Never a Pete Carroll fan but what a joke kicking a ball that far with no elements!
