Java running in browsers has been a long time security problem and there is no need for it anymore as a browser plugin.. it's lazy websites/companies that still insist on using it that are a problem.
I wonder if Oracle's definition of shortly is like any of the other applications that it owns or controls? if that be the case, we're in for a long wait.
