On the contrary, this story shows an excellent example of why environmentalism is NECESSARY for human health and the environment. Too many cars, factories without pollution restrictions, and many coal-burning power plants are avoidable without dooming an economy. What happens there could happen here. It does to some extent in some cities, including our own Twin Cities from time to time (not near to these levels but still in the "unhealthy to all" zone).
