We're watching you Mr. Dayton and Mr. Mondale. We're under the assumption that the "People's Stadium" meant Minnesotans as the "people". If you continue to pick out-of-state firms on this project, Mr. Dayton, we will vote you out. Mr. Mondale, if there was a way to fire you (you've been living off the people for decades) we'd do that, too, but unfortunately, Mr. Dayton gave you one of those cushy liberal "jobs for life" positions.
Guess who pays more when, inevitably, the stadium ends up costing hundreds of millions more than that already outrageous $1 billion? That's right, TAXPAYERS DO (while Wilf laughs all the way to the bank).
Hopefully they'll choose Mortenson or Kraus-Anderson,Keep the money in state.
Dayton and Mondale also promised that the new metrodome will be multipurpose. What is going on in the upcoming weekends at our current metrodome? I want to make sure all of those moneymaking events get transferred to the new metrodome. And don't forget to play your etabs!
More disgusting news, and one of the companies being considered is from New Jersey. Just a coincidence. Don't tell me that a company from Minnesota can't manage the building of a stupid stadium.
I take offense over a couple of things:
I now live in Minnesota a New Jersey Transplant I do not find it disgusting that NJ is in the running. I find it disgusting that the legislature did not mandate that it be a all MN design and build, since they didn't anyone can bid.............What makes you think you are better then a NJ firm?
The usual complainers are out. You complain when there aren't competitive bids on projects, then you complain when there are...
What do you bet the Dallas firm is recommending an out of state construction manager? They'll sell it as being more impartial. We are rubes.
rshackleford -- Let's see, this weekend is the Minneapolis Home and Landscape Expo, next weekend is Monster Jam, and the weekend after is TwinsFest.
You're right... there is NOTHING going on.
A good construction manager will hire local labor no matter where they are from. When you spend those kinds of dollars on construction, let them pick the best they can find.
