Damn private sector!!!
Personal Care Assistant fraud is rampant and well known to thousands of crooks. This isn't even the tip of the iceberg. Minnesota Nice translates to guilty pleas with reduced sentences. Oh any by the way, that already lax sentence is reduced by 1/3 by state law. There is no such thing as good behavior in MN, everyone does 2/3 their time.
WOW, you people are amazing. So what should the justice system do with all the folks born in the USA and legally living in Minnesota who steal money from their employers or government assistance programs--deport them to Anoka, Newport News, Newport Beach, or wherever the heck they were born?! Criticize criminal conduct, not the criminal's country of national origin, and try not to judge any nation's entire population based on the criminal actions of a few perps. I think we can all agree that 99.999 per cent of Minnesotans have nothing remotely in common with Tom Petters, Gordon Weaver, or Kathleen Anne Soliah (the convicted terrorist murderer living in St. Paul under her legal name Sara Jane Olson)and we don't want any false assumptions made about us based on their criminal history. Why not extend the same courtesy to Minnesota's Somali residents?
I wonder if this story's commenters would post similar comments about the afternoon's other home-care fraud story, headlined "Charges: Osseo home health care exec's scheme netted nearly $1.5M," which stars a repeat swindler variously known as Peterson and Mueller. I guess we won't find out, because the Star Tribune isn't offering the comments feature for that story.
"Can he be deported since he is guilty of a felony?" Probably not. We have a couple hundred thousand people here from Somalia, and the US will not deport them even if convicted of a felony crime, because there is no government there to accept them.
Pseudonym - I agree - our system is so broken!!! I am so tired of giving to all who are allowed to come here for a better life and then have them steal from a country that is sooo generous.
