Awesome game for the Gophers - Mbakwe was a beast, and Joe Coleman was the MAN tonight. If the Gophs beat Indiana on Sat, they will move into the top 3-5 in the rankings. Go Gophers.

Need to win 1 of the next 2 and then the schedule is in our favor. Great resiliency in the face of a couple Illinois runs. Wins on the road are what make champions.

HUGE WIN! Its been a long time since we had this kind of performance; i think the last was when we went to the final 4 back in the late 90's. To beat a good big10 team is one thing, to beat them in their arena is something that only really good teams do. It was exciting to watch, but i must say that the b team we sub with is really quite horrible. None of our subs want to shoot. We definitely need to keep the a team on the floor for these big10 games

Way to go Tubster. Really happy to see Minny ranked top 10 while UK is nowhere to be found in the top 25. LOL

Grew up in southern MN listening to WCCO broadcasts of the "giants from the North" including Behagen, Brewer and Winfield. Watched Tucker, McHale and Breuer and was pumped when the 97 squad made the final. I'm starting to get the feeling again!!!

This year feels different. At no point in the second half, when Ilini made a run to close the gap, did I feel concerned. I just expected gophs to regroup and put them away, and they did. Ind hosers better be ready to strap it up, these aren't your fathers gophers!!!

Nice road win in a very tough place to play. Makes me feel very good about the fight Tubby's team will give Indiana on Saturday. Tubby has improved his team's focus on perimeter defense a ton since last year and the season before that, where they often got burned by threes from players everyone knew was a threat from out there. Illinois has been a strong three-point shooting team, and Tubby's players reduced them to rubble from three-point range tonight. Impressive effort. Joe is Mr. Hustle and he has no fear, plays with poise and seemed to be everywhere tonight. For all his beautiful scoring tonight, his pass to Rodney on the break (was it late in the first half?) was truly a thing of beauty. One question for the Strib: WHERE IS THE BOX SCORE??? It's up on the NY Times website mere minutes after the game? Why can't it ever be found on the Star Trib soon after the game ends? That's frustrating and kind of a silly disappointment to have to scrounge for it on another website. Just one man's opinion....

Excellent defense, extreme toughness under duress, this team has all the tools to make a serious run. They passed a big test tonight, let's keep it rolling Gophers.
