Henson's statement ("We share pride in this Grammy nomination and appreciate that the mayor understands the importance of this cultural institution and the need for it to be financially sustainable in the future")...is artful! to say the least. The mayor specified how "it was important to create a neutral setting" - hardly the same thing as reading management's cue cards. It's a concert. It's about beautiful music, played by great musicians. And it's about time.

The longer the orchestras go without performing regularly, the more patrons will get used to not going, and no longer pay attention, nor resume going. It is long past time to settle.
