Northern Minn. carver admits killing his wife with totem pole

Guilty plea comes five days before trial. He said 700-pound carving accidentally fell on her. The trial had been set to begin Monday in Bemidji.

Totem poles don't kill people PEOPLE kill people...just sayin' The proposed sentence is too light IMHO.

Another case of guilty before proven innocent. While I never understand why people cant just get a divorce and am in no way stating he is innocent but all the commenters on here just seem to assume he is guilty. Maybe it did happen how he said. Many people hold affairs (though it is very wrong) and have spouses that die etc. If he's guilty then yes the sentence is light.
