Public health emergency? The mayor hasn't even suggested voluntary quarantines. Not trying to be heartless, just pointing out an important part of stopping the spread of the illness.

Surprised at the negative responses to the first comment. Very legitimate question - I have two personal friends who dutifully got the flu shot in November and were down for two weeks apiece (one in the hospital) with very scary versions of the flu. I understand the benefit of the shot, but it is statistically important to track its effectiveness if for no other reason than to improve future public health outcomes.

Interesting. I keep hearing how bad it is, but have not met anyone personally who has had it which is unusual. Might get bad now that the kids went back to school after Christmas break. Should be really fun when the colleges start back up.

WASH YOUR HANDS. I have never had a flu shot. I have had the flu 2 times in 36 years. Getting a flu shot isn't bad, but it may give some a false sense of security.
