We're leaving no troops in Afghanistan? Define 'troops.'
We need to get out of the business of others and worry about home base! I am fine with this, itll save us some money and lives.
How do you argue with this? We make the right decision late in 2014 based on the results achieved. That's what executives do. I certainly hope we can remove all our people, but you do the right thing at the time. All options should remain open until then.
They MAY or may not? We will see. We are pretty good at predicting the future.
Good - this is long overdue.
And while we're at it, lets get the troops out of Bosnia, Germany, Japan and all the rest of the countries we are in.
We're in so deep that we'll have troops in there until the U.S. goes belly-up bankrupt...which, actually, may not be as long as you might think.
Who are you kidding? We still have troops in Germany and Japan left over from 1945. Do the math people...WWII ended almost 70-years ago and we still have troops there!
"We're in so deep that we'll have troops in there until the U.S. goes belly-up bankrupt..." - Right, 2014. Wait a minute. The headline says "After combat ends in 2014"... So, combat will just end next year? Well, that's convenient. Gotta stay on schedule!
It is a shame we spent so much money to get the Taliban and it looks like they might come back into power -- and now the people hate us too. Mission accomplished. Thanks George W! Good plan you had.
