He's in his 14th year of wondering if he will be elected to the Hall of Fame, and he knows voters are torn about him.

He's handling this with more class than the last former Twin waiting to be inducted.

I like his thinking. After next year, his final on the ballot, he'll at least know with some certainty whether he's in or out and can stop dealing with the question every year at this time. Then it will just be up to some version or another of a Veterans' Committee in the future and that's a far less stressful and public process, anyway.
