Hall of Fame call unlikely for Jack Morris

Pretty sad that some voters have to compare the players on the ballot. If you think someone should be in the HOF at any time during their 15 years on the ballot, you should vote for them every year. Good luck to Jack.

Morris deserves election because of his humongous complete game totals, and his 1991 game 7 performance.

Since a sizeable number of BBWAA members likely will vote for alleged steroid users Bonds and Clemens, Rogers concludes, "This could get ugly for Jack." They would rather vote for cheaters than Black Jack. That's twisted, where are there morals.

It's ironic - he's already famous for his career and for an absolute stud complete game performance in series game 7 in '91. What's to debate? He belongs in the HOF.

The fact that he is not in already, says more about the people voting, than it does about Jack. How about letting the fans vote on this? Baseball can claim tradition, but it is obvious that politics play a part in this too. It's sad and it's wrong.

Jack is most deserving. He ate innings all his career. He was the ace anywhere he pitched. He won the biggest game on the biggest stage and in the process shut out the opposition and on his own he left the opposition NO chance to win. It would be a classless thing to do but -too bad he doesn't lower himself to shameless self promotion on TV... from a broadcast 'bully pulpit' as a 'color commentator' during baseball broadcasts ... like another Twins hall of famer did for 6-7 seasons ...

The same thing is happening to Jack Morris that happened to Bert Blyleven.Morris did not play for the Yankees.New York writers think baseball revolves around New York.Would have Whitey Ford got elected to the Hall if he didn't pitch for the Yankees? Watch, they will find some way to vote Roger Clemens in before Jack Morris.If that happens Cooperstown should close for good.

"ANY doubt in your minds, that if Jack played his career in New York, he would be in ASAP?" Yes! Ron Guidry was a better pitcher for 14 seasons than Morris was for 18. Over half a run per game better over his career and had 4 seasons that were much better than Morris's best season. If he was not a Minnesota native and had pitched game 7 for someone else would you be as convinced he belongs when his career stats, while good, were very borderline for HOF. I am not opposed to him being in but like I said, Guidry ,from New York, was better. If he gets in then great. If not, I never feel sorry for guys that made tons of money with great careers playing baseball.
