Is there something terribly wrong with her?
As for the letter from the person who seems to date only "jerks", what in that letter has lead Ms. Hax to assume the letter writer is a female?
tomtom02 - probably because she actually has the writer's name on an envelope or more likely, an email. Plus, the language is clearly female. Even as she questions something in herself, she still sees herself as a victim, as is the pop-psychology norm.
I was against living together before marriage. After a very few years of marriage, I became a proponent of it. I wish we would have done it, as it would have saved a lot of people hassle, money and heartache, and wouldn't have to put a child through divorce. And I was stupid to actually believe in the specifics of my vows and to live by them. The more-religious wife and her side of the family apparently were not so bound by "so help me, God". And physical and psychological abuse from a woman don't matter.
