Obama inauguration planners solicit record donations up to $1 million to fund festivities

WASHINGTON - Planners of President Barack Obama's second inauguration are soliciting high-dollar contributions up to $1 million to help pay for the celebration in exchange for special access.

All those 1% in Hollywood should be willing to help out. Or are they upset because he picked on them by raising their taxes. No matter, reports say there will be a lot less people there than the one in 2009. Guess his popularity is not quite what it use to be.

firefight41: "Guess his popularity is not quite what it use to be." But it sure is better than either of the last two republican Presidents, neither of which were asked to campaign for Willard. Oh, an his popularity was so bad he couldn't any one of his four home states (MA, MI, NH, or CA). How sad is that!

If you can afford or are willing to give away your money for a party, instead, lets see that check being made out to the IRS to help pay for the deficit. If Obama truly "knew" how average Americans are feeling he would skip the party. Actions speak louder than words.
