I don't know if anyone is giving Royce advise or if this is his own creation, but what he is doing is destroying any kind of opportunity he might have of ever playing professional ball. Houston is just dotting their Is and crossing their Ts for an eventual voiding of the contract. They are doing all the things they need to do legally and Royce is just digging his own grave. He has no legs to stand on when he has not showed up and attempted to try the accommodations made by the Rockets. If he tries to sue the Rockets after he gets cut (which he will be soon) the first thing the court will ask is "Royce, did you try to play" and the answer will be "No". Royce needs to understand is that he does not have to play basketball. If he can't handle the NBA work environment, then he should look for another job. If a teacher does not like to work with kids, don't teach. If a pilot hates flying, don't fly. Like any job, there are certain work conditions you have to be able to function in. If you cannot, then time to look for a new line of work.

And we thought J.R. Rider was troublesome.

Shift accountability? Who does he think is accountable for this situation?

It's perfectly reasonable to put one's health above one's career. What is not reasonable is to expect your employer to continue to pay you while you do it, especially if you're a new hire who hasn't done any work yet. Here's a hint, if one suffers from anxiety disorder and has a fear of flying, then a high stress job that requires lots of air travel probably isn't a good career choice.

ROYCE WHITE was decorated with more red flags on last year's NBA draft day than Red Square on Moscow's annual May Day military parade. Impossible to understand why Houston took a chance on a guy with White's personal history. White's pitiful, nonstop Twitter pity party is pathetic and might finally convince Houston to terminate his contract under a clause that relieves the Rockets of any further financial obligation to him. High school, college, and professional sports teams should be much more proactive getting rid of problem players.

Royce, You are making a life-changing screw up the further you push you opinions on this. When you have blown through any money the courts are going to require the Rockets to play you, you will be so sorry you did what you are doing now. This is not a human rights issue and its not a political issue and its not an advocacy issue but rather its a will any team ever trust Royce to shut up and play basketball.

Where are his parents, high school coaches, anut, uncle, grandma to kick his pants and then kick his head. Dude - your health is one issue, your basketball, flying in a plane, etc. are other issues. Own up to the basketball part, a professional team invested in you and you need to play your part and get it together. Or fade into pickup leagues around the Cities....fade to black.
