After the U's 17-point first half, its athleticism and Austin Hollins' hot streak woke up the crowd.

This was a truly strange and highly entertaining game. The circus show at the end, albeit sloppy, was really remarkable. The bench scoring 24 points when the starters got into foul trouble was good news. Wally's dunks were wild, with one fed by Walker the Beast. All around strange. Tubby will only be happy with the result, not the sloppy and erratic performance.

This is a team that could give us a very interesting Winter and early Spring!

For a team with higher than normal aspirations, tonight's performance was underwhelming. If they start Wednesday's game against Illinois like they did tonight, they'll be down by 15 at halftime. Too many turnovers. Great performance by Austin Hollins though.

The weirdness also included the fact that using only the second half, the Gophers could have won this game. Would have been 52-51. Good defense or sheer insanity?

I was at the Illinois game Saturday when they demolished Ohio State. I also watched their mess at Purdue. It's hard to figure which team the Gophers will see on Wednesday. If it's Saturday's Illini team, they will be unbeatable, but they have played some stinkers at Assembly Hall too. Go Gophers!

There has to be a 24 second clock. Teams like Wisconsin and Northwestern are ruining basketball. It's a game of skill not clutch and grab, and hold the ball and force a shot at the end of the shot clock. Disgutsting. No wonder college basketball isn't what it used to be.

I liked the defense in the first half but they got a little sloppy in the second half. They need to work on a Chaos Drill where everything breaks down and defenders need to scramble to find someone to defend while maintaining on the ball pressure.

Wow. What an ugly first half. I didn't see much of the first half, but was NW's defense that good to hold the Gophers to only 17 points? Or were we missing everything thrown at the basket? I thought the Wisc - Nebraska first half was a laugher. I wanted the Gophers to take command of the game. And they did, finaly in the second half. Tough week coming up. We shall see. Good luck Gophers!

A win but an ugly win. Good game for Austin Hollins. To many turnovers. Bad free throw shooting the second Big Ten game in a row. Free throw shooting will cost them a couple of games this year. It is a shame Ellenson was not red shirted. He was potential but is a project. Coleman needs to think(bonehead move b4 the half) and reduce turnoers again this year. Good to see Mbakwe played well again.
