firefight41: Please reconcile "Status: This exact quotation has not been found in any of the writings of Thomas Jefferson. It bears a very vague resemblance to Jefferson's comment in a prospectus for his translation of Destutt de Tracy's Treatise on Political Economy: "To take from one, because it is thought that his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, —the guarantee to every one of a free exercise of his industry, & the fruits acquired by it

The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."-Unproven! This quote was not found in the Jeffersonian Cyclopedia but several people have attributed this to Jefferson. This is still under investigation.

Pelosi - the lady who brought you "If you want to know what's in it you'll have to pass it". Not very sound policy. Let congress chip in first. Yeah, that'll happen......

Geez, it sure didn't take long for Pelosi to come out for even higher taxes than what was agreed to just last week! For her and other pro big government "ideologues" our taxes will never be high enough.

Hey Pelosi! how is that debt crisis in your home state of California doing? Do you really think you can drag the rest of the respublic down to pay for your sanctuary state policies of the past 30-years?

We got what we wanted from the wealthy and the income tax increase isn't going to make much of a dent in our national debt. The capital gains tax benefit is gone. I would hope that we find a way to keep Corporate America from hiding their fake headquarters off shore. Their 6% contribution to the treasury department is embarrassing to say the least. We need to cut the loopholes they use but bring the tax rate down to where it is competitive globally. There's no reason for us not to have a $3T budget while we pay $1T per year against Reagan's, and the Bush family debt run up. that's only 28% of a $15 T economy or 25% of the $20T economy we had before George trashed it.
