Plain and simple.....YOU CANNOT HAVE A BACKUP QUARTERBACK WHO HAS NOT THROWN ONE PASS IN A GAME ALL YEAR.....What is that all about??? How about putting him in when the game is out of hand or either won or lost?????? I cannot fathom not putting in a backup quarterback.........It is just unheard of, and plain stupid, as it turned out.....I might as well went out there...

There will still be the morons who think Webb is a bona fide NFL QB but the rest of us know better. Simple fact is, Webb is an athlete without a position and come next year....without a job.

The only positive from last nights game is proof that Joe Webb is not an NFL QB and hopefully, Spielman will trade Webb in the off-season to a team that will use him in another position since the Vikings are not. Maybe Musgrave was trying to show Frazier the same with his game plan. I thought Bethel-Thompson could have done a better job with Musgrave's game plan than what we saw with Webb. Rich Gannon was being kind when he said Webb needs a little more work in his mechanics before he can compete in the NFL.

Webb is not a quarterback - not his fault (he's a receiver - line him up at receiver. The team has 1 receiver. DUHHH). Frazier's fault for putting him out there. Frazier is NOT a head coach. He's good at embarrassing the organization on national TV by making stupid decisions. This team has not had a quarterback since Wade Wilson. Or a head coach in 20+ years. This is what you get when you have rich, sports-stupid garbage for ownership.

Dan, seriously, your a Vikings beat writer and you actually wrote "Webb took most of the reps with the first-team offense during the team's Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday practices" and say Webb was prepared? Webb didn't even have a FULL week of practice due to the short week (Sunday game followed by a Saturday game) Using that logic, if "most of the 1st team snaps" for three practice days is enough to "prepare" a quarterback to play in a PLAYOFF game, Vikings should cancel training camp next year. Ponder should be good to go after two or three days of practice for a meaningless pre-season game, right? 3 days of practice is not remotely close to enough and you know it. I cannot believe you actually wrote that.

How do you expect Peterson to gain yds. After 3 weeks the Pack figured out how to keep him inside, and the line hasnn't opened holes all yr. If AP can't bounce outside he has no hole.

Viking's offensive plays should of been on running the ball and doing Wildcat plays. Both Webb and AP run the ball well. Old fashion football - run on all three downs. Almost no passing plays. That what football was in the early 1900s. Run, run and run some more. 3 yards, 3 yards, 5 yards. Do it again! Should been the Viking game plan.

It is obvious that Joe Webb is neither a quarterback of NFL calibre or a capable receiver. I do not need to go into detail there. However he does display running back skills. WHy is he not a running back/special teams/wildcat player? He needs to be used properly to be effective. Playing quarterback is not effective usage.
