Police use technology to put brakes on auto thefts

But even the best anti-theft device won't thwart a criminal if an owner leaves the keys in the car and the engine running.

What about if the car doors are locked? I always have spare keys for my vehicles and use one to warm the engine in the winter with a second to lock the door. I started that years ago when my children were babies.
