Lance Armstrong is considering whether to confess to doping

He would make a public acknowledgment, insiders said, in an effort to restore his eligibility so that he can resume his athletic career.

I think Reusse put it right when he (basically) wrote that Armstrong was the best cheater in a sport that made baseball look like child's play when it came to PEDs. Armstrong's work with cancer survivors trumps all with me, but it would be great to put this to bed. Of course he used them. Time to admit it and move on.

I can't think of anything more appropriate for him to do.

Why even bother at this point. Just go away, Lance.

An astounding fall from grace from someone so many of us once revered as a hero - but does this really change anything? He still ruled the roost in a sport full of dopers; and what he did beyond the sport to support those in need is truly remarkable. Lance is still a hero in so many ways, but please put away the notion of ever being a driving force in any sporting event ever again... You'll always be a champ to those you championed.

If he's "considering confessing" doesn't that mean he's just confessed? Reason would tell us that one can't consider confessing unless one has a confession to make.

Oh my, some people are actually defending him. Did he do some good in the world? He sure did, but to put him up on a pedestal now is just plain wrong. Pete Rose was banned from baseball for betting on his own team, and Armstrong did something 100 times worse and some people still admire him? It's just wrong.

One would think that having cancer would give pause to appreciate the things in life. By defrauding people it cleary shows that he doesn't "get it". So it's best to simply remember him for what the true Lance Armstong really was.

So what? NO one is perfect and obviously hes not the only one. Why crucify the guy. Hes done some great things and is a great athlete.

Cheating, stealing, lying and backstabbing are the norms to getting ahead in America. Some would say its through hard work. Yeah right!

beveryafraidJan. 5, 13 7:50 AM

Confess? Why? I heard he never failed a drugs test. Didn't he cheerfully tell us that about a million times, and ruin the lives of those who contradicted him? He should go back and read his own statements, because his memory appears to be failing in his post-sports dotage. Lance is clean, just ask him.
