Schafer: Rybak blazed a creative path to boost economy

Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak didn't come into office as the economic development mayor. But that doesn't mean that Rybak, who has announced he will not seek a fourth term, has no economic development record.

Minneapolis is morally and financially bankrupt. That is the path that Rybak blazed.

"But in conversations with academics and businesspeople last week, it seems the final grade for Rybak in economic development is looking good." ---- Businesspeople meaning: the Target Corp wealthy employee who colluded with Rybak (city mayor) and Segal (city attorney) to ignore the peoples' wishes and dole-out hundreds of millions in free taxpayer money to a guy from New Jersey.

It seems to me Minneapolis has at best been pretty stagnant for the last decade or more. Not to mention, property taxes are through the roof in this town.
