RIP Wren...Great stories about him and the North Stars Some of the stories I had heard before, some not. They all have a "Slapshot" type feeling to them

Mr. Blair, RIP. I remember your days with the NorthStars very well, thanks for coming here and getting the NHL established. I hope we will see a story on your time here soon, Louie, Jeep and Tom Reid have some great stories about this guy. Blair was a true fifties, sixties and seventies Canadian hockey guy....

I remember going to the old Met Center and sitting in the bright-colored seats and watching guys with their front teeth missing flying up and down the ice. There was goal-scorer Bill Goldsworthy, tough guy Ted Harris, scrappy J.P. Parise, Minnesota native Henry Boucha, who wore a headband but no helmet, and a goalie who didn't wear a mask, Gump Worsley, who had a very distinctive Marine-style crew cut. He must have been a brave old guy...

Wayne Connelly, Milan Marcetta, Dave Balon, Gary Bauman, Andre Boudrias ... Cesar and MOOSE! All some of the initial players Mr. Blair brought in to form the N's! For as long as I live I will never forget the excitement of Western Division Finals v. Blues! Thank you Wren Blair - R.I.P.

I always love to hear old North Stars stories. The Met is where I fell in love with the NHL. Every time Gretzky came to town I was there more often than not. I wish the Wild would have taken the Stars name. I'll never get used to "Wild." Also, note to Wild marketing people: why not strike a deal with Dallas to let the Wild retire Stars players numbers here? The history belongs to Minnesota, not the franchise. Neal Broten has never been recognized by Minnesota fans. Imagine how cool it would be to have a Neal Broten night at the X....
