His teammates aren't bothered by his absence, but his future in Purple will spark a lively post-playoffs debate.

Why not see what you can get for him. Distractions like this can be a cancer. Generally organizations that succeed have everyone on board rowing in the same direction. Harvin is A tremendous athlete with too many issues. Let somebody else deal with him.

Please, once again gentlemen, ignore your overwheming urges to create a controversy out of Harvin being absent from this team...Not a single fan of the Vikes cares where he is...IT IS PLAYOFF TIME AND WE ARE STILL PLAYING!! Enjoy the ride that got us to this game and concentrate on firing the team and the fans up for this game Saturday...I'm excited to see if we can move on and upset a few teams on our way to the Super Bowl!!...You can spend your time next spring making up controversies about Harvin...Right now he's a non-entity...Go Vikes!!

Save these stories for after the season is over. Starting drama up right when we enter the playoffs? Way to go! Must be a Packer fan.

Perfect time for the Vikes to trade Harvin to Jacksonville. Tebow will sign there and the fan base would LOVE to have Harvin play there too. Trade now for their #2 pick and use it to pick up the top college player. Harvin won't sign with Minnesota anyways when his contract is up and the Vikes may not want his attitude to rub off on younger players (see Moss) anyways. Good player but huge headache (literally and figuratively).

@vegas10 nice shot at that headache comment..reall classy on your part...just leave the kid alone down in Florida and drop this...deal with it later in the year..

Of coarse there is more to this story. No one goes from practicing on the ankle to see if he can play to being on the IR without even a chance that it might heal by 64 days of recovery. There is no such thing as a sprain that requires no surgery but takes a player out for the season after game 9. At the very least, they would keep rehabbing and see if it gets better and every week they would see how fast he was healing. Then if it didn't get better for 60 days, then there would need to be surgery or something else because it is not just a sprain. They decided he was not playing the rest of the season and it had nothing to do with his ankle if you ask me. There is nothing wrong with this story either. Everyone has been wondering what is going on with him and no one believes this ridiculous story that he was put on the IR for an ankle injury for this long of a time and no one wanted to see if it would heal over the 60 days. If this story is true, we have bigger issues. Our team doctors, trainers and coaches are idiots if they shut him down for the last half of the season and the playoffs without thinking that it would likely heal in this much time. At the very least, they would keep him off the season ending IR if this was all it is. It is the worst ankle injury ever if he had no chance of healing after 2 months of healing.

A great talent. one of the best all-around players in the NFL. Do I want him back on the team? Sure. You would be crazy to want to get rid of that kind of production. You will not just grab one of him at draft time. Do I know why he isn't around? No. Do I know if the Vikes want him in the teams future? No. All this is something for the off season. Right m=now J. Wright is the slot guy, and has been doing a great job. He has made the big plays, when his # is called. I hope none of the players focus is on Harvin catching a sun tan down in Fla. Right now the team has more important things to worry about. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A monkey can understand that Harvin will never play for the Vikings again. Percy wants out, the Vikings want him out, but it's the press that won't let go. The only mystery is what the Vikings get in return when he's traded...probably a 2nd or 3rd round draft choice.

DrZoidbergJan. 4, 13 8:15 AM

Listen to you guys...acting like 'we, the fans' should not worry about this until off season. Do we play for the team? I'm pretty sure I can talk/focus on this Harvin mystery and still have enough time to watch the game on Saturday. Why don't YOU 'worry about' what YOU want to worry about and stop telling other people what to talk about?

mcgh01Jan. 4, 13 8:16 AM

"even as those higher up the power structure convey that they wish Harvin was around..." Ask him, report publicly his answer. Add some legitimacy back to the front office, and the coaching staff. His replacement may have done well last week, but Harvin is one of the best special teams/ offensive weapons we have...Under Pressure. Coulda', shoulda', woulda's are too late in the playoffs.
