We've learned some things about oil and safety since the Exxon Valdez.
Here's a news flash, LA times. Fossil fuels are here to stay. For a long long time. Our economy depends on them, whether you like it or not. Oil. Shale oil. Natural gas. Fracking. Etc. The economy will thrive if we go after these vital sources of energy.
@Wally_99. We have to live on this planed too. Humans and their environment cannot be separated. We have to breathe the air, drink the water and eat the fish to survive. We can't if it's full of diesel fuel. I don't recall the writer saying not to go after fossil fuels. We need the regulation because Shell does not appear to care if you want to breathe and eat. They care about money and that is all.
Do we really need regulations to tell Shell they should take precautions to prevent losing an off-shore drilling platform that costs upwards of $500 million?
