To the GOP governors of the states that refuse to set up anything- grow up! There are many things in life that don't always fit with what you want, but you need to look at the situation as a whole and do what is right by your state and the people of your state - which includes working with the other side. The supreme court upheld the ACA as law, and now it's time to act like adults and work with those who want to work for the people and the future good of your state - not act like 2 year olds having a tantrum....

From the story: "They were originally a Republican idea that won bipartisan support, only to be abandoned by many in the GOP once Obama incorporated the concept in his health care law."----------- Obama should use this power to influence issues. If he wants the Republicans to support something, all he has to do is say he opposes it!

You people don't seem to understand the cost these states will have to pay to set up these insurance markets it will cost millions of dollars and then when after that the federal government will have control of it. Talk about more government control.

I can't wait until this is implemented. In fact, I wish it would happen sooner.

The ignorant sheep must not have read what this will cost MN to implement, let alone run it year to year. Where does that $$ come from? YOU (taxpaying citizens that is) SUCKERS! Of course its "good idea" when someone else pays for YOUR health insurance.

lostinstpaul says: " Where does that $$ come from? YOU (taxpaying citizens that is) SUCKERS! Of course its "good idea" when someone else pays for YOUR health insurance".....................I am lower middle class income wise. I will gladly pay a little more in taxes if I have to in order for all Americans to be able to have health insurance. This should have been done 20 years ago. Start working together instead of party first reasoning.

If their state leaders muck it up and muddle about, those people unable to get health insurance in a timely manner will likely be upset enough to vote in clearer thinkers the next round.

lostinstpaul: "Of course its "good idea" when someone else pays for YOUR health insurance." When is THAT going to happen. I pay $20,000 per year for a family of four in premiums plus a $6,000 deductible. We're on MHCA because I have skin cancer. Most Americans, faced with $26,000 in insurance and co-pays would simply have to forgo getting health care. And the emergency room will not take care of my preventative care. Single-payer, where we all pay for each other, is the only way to go as every other industrialized nation has discovered. And their costs per person are less than half of what we pay for our health care. When will we wake up?

1. Most Americans will not quality for the subsidy. 2. No one MUST buy coverage, and if you don't you will face an additional tax which won't be enforced. Americans that don't have coverage and are healthy will do what they have been doing and that is going uninsured. Only now they can wait until they need it and then opt into the system. This is like calling a Home Insurance carrier for coverage when your house is on fire. How is the ACA a good idea again?
