More spending now for pie-in-the-sky savings in the future, all justified by statistics pulled out of thin air. The actual percentage reduction in airborne soot would be so small as to be nearly unmeasurable.

industry doesn't have the right to kill or sicken people in order to keep expenses low - - - AGREED. However all decisions have consequences. Diesel fuel is now cleaner, but at $3 gas and $4 diesel nobody is asking to buy a diesel car, which is arguable better for CO2. When manufacturing in the US is more expensive, it will shift to other countries. Very few decisions are 'all good' without consequences.

Gee and where does a lot of the urban soot come from? Buses that the libs keep shoving down our throats.
