I cannot begin to describe how much I miss Dayton's...Macy's doesn't even come close. The shopping environment was marred in the Twin Cities, never to return, when Dayton's/Marshall Field's was sold to Macy's parent company. Has anyone been to the downtown store lately? The tile is cracked on many floors and the store is incredibly run down. And, running the elf thing in the auditorium for the fourth year in a row speaks volumes about their mindset and unwillingness to invest anything in the store they are running into the ground yearly.
