2013 will certainly be an interesting year for healthcare in Minnesota. I think we'll see a lot of consolidation, hospital-bed closures, mergers and acquisitions. Hold on, it could be a bumpy ride!

Well-written article. I am wondering if the patient's medical records from each entity will be electronically combined in the merger.

Very poorly written article. It looks like a basic summary of the Press Release from HP/PN. As to saving money and reducing health care costs, that is a PIPE DREAM. Nearly 100% of mergers result in higher cost to the consumer. Just use logic. Two former competitors have combined. Will there be competitive pressures to keep cost down to the consumer. No - NO - NO.
