I can't believe he got that close and didn't get the record. Most football experts whould say making an All Time historical record is more important than a meaningless win that allows us to play at Lambeau Field in January. I think we should demand a recount and go back through the replays of every game and add up all the yards again AND the inches. And round UP.

@kennyrogers - Name one "expert" that says any individual record is more important than the playoffs.

Two Points: Adrian played great and they gave him the most touches of the season so it wasn't like he didn't have a chance. It wasn't meant to be. And I DEFINITELY would practice outside on a field surface just like Lambeau if I was them, to include noise simulation.

Kennyrogers, is it a little tough for you to accept the fact that AP could not reach the record? You still need to provide us one expert that thinks an individual record is more important than the playoffs. Then why don't you take the time to do that recount? It's so easy for you to expect somebody else to do it right? Now you should just come to grips with the fact that he did not make it. Period.

Meaningless win? I read the comments almost everyday on the strib and I thought you were a Vikings fan. You're no fan if you think a personal record is better than a team win...a win that got us into the playoffs, none the less. Every true Vikes fan wanted AD to get the record but even Adrian would have wanted the win over the record.

They could have given AP one more run and could have had both a win and a record. Too bad the Vikes couldn't have played the Packers one more season game and AP would have shattered the record big time the way he runs over them. he has over 400 yds alone against them in two games, so if they play one more he adds another 150-200 yds to his total.LOL

He was showing how silly it is to put Peterson's record quest over the team's goals.

Before ADs last run of 26 yards, I was well aware that a run to the 2 or 3 would tie, and anything closer he has the record. Truly, until he got mauled at the 11 on that last one, I thought "this is it!" Then, I thought for sure they would take time out and give him one more shot, but I understand why not. There's always next year. Why not have the #2 and the #1 rushing records? The key is to keeping him healthy. Here's how I see it: The Vikes are setting themselves up for a legit passing attack next year. Ponder will contiunue to improve, Jarius looks to be a near clone, or perhaps poor mans version of Percy, Percy will be healthy next year, and perhaps we find another legit WR. I still am scratching my head over Simpson. He was awfully quiet most of the season. Sidney Rice would look awfully good in a Vikes uniform next year. I hope we can find someone close to that level. If so my money is on AD breaking the record next year. Go Vikes.

Explain to me how he could have the #1 and #2 rushing records next year.Do you possibly mean the #1 and #3 records.
