Deepest sympathy to this father for the loss of his child as well. I'm sure he's suffering great pains not only for the loss of his child but also for knowing what his child had done. He and the remaining brother deserve our sympathy as well.

My heart goes out to the father and the brother. I cannot even imagine the pain they are feeling. I doubt time will ever heal the pain that this family most be going through. We all need to have compassion for them.

The father, Peter Lanza, reportedly hadn't seen his son for over two years, although he lived in a nearby city. The father reportedly had not had much, (maybe no) involvement with his son after he divorced the mom. The father, when he moved out four years ago, surely knew his teenaged son was deeply troubled, and must have known his ex-wife was a gun-enamored "prepper". The father is very intelligent and wealthy. None of us know what could have been. Would all those children be alive today, playing with their Christmas toys, had the father (who after all did beget his son) remained a part of the son's life? Paying a huge monthly alimony does not absolve a person of all life's responsibilities. I, too, feel for all those involved, including Adam Lanza and his father. But Peter Lanza's hands are not entirely free of blood, either. Indeed, there's enough blood here to wet the hands of many, including politicians and the NRA.

The son seemed to have had some antipathy toward his mother. Some ex-wives make it very hard for the father to reach their children, and not in a way where an appeal to a court would alleviate the problem. Speaking from experience. We may never know what went on in that family, except for the tragic happenings marking the final end of it.

There are so many things that the press could and should be investigating in this tragedy and this is the drivel we are given. Our mass media in the US is becoming more of an unethical joke everyday. Anything to keep the real questions from being answered. In regards to the story, may peace come to the surviving brother and father through what is an unimaginable tragedy.

If we are going to have a knee jerk reaction, it is time to keep doctors away from kids. Out of the over 50,000 deaths in US last year from doctor's mistakes, over 10,000 of them were children and a lot of that number from strangulation in a hospital. We also need to keep them out of cars. In the US an average of 6 kids are killed everyday and another 156 are injured. Car accidents are one of the main causes of deaths in the US for kids age 6-14. School crossings have to go also, 190 kids killed last year using the school cross walk. As far as I can see, we kill kids in this country in every way imaginable, everyday, by the hundreds and the only time it makes the papers is if someone uses a gun. So what we need to do is just lock all the kids in a small room until they reach adulthood so we don't kill them before they grow up. When you look at all the statistics, adults in this country are just killing machines when it comes to kids. I forgot to mention trikes, bikes, toys, ladders, swimming, sports, you name it. Yep we adults are killing machines.

The Media is going overboard. We did not have to "know" who claimed his body. I think we all assumed it was his father and we DO NOT have to know his "final resting place". Let it go!!!
